Keynote Speaker:  Carol Kent

“What makes my heart sing?” asks Carol.  “Speaking to groups looking for messages that include humor and hope that speak to today’s challenges by pointing to God’s Word.” She says, “I think women need to laugh because life is challenging, but I also think they want to go deeply into God’s Word and find out how to live in the middle of relationship struggles, difficult choices, and hidden fears.  Women are longing for authenticity and practical strategies for living out their faith. I’ve spoken at large arena events for Women of Faith, Extraordinary Women, and Women of Joy. I’ve also spoken at medium sized venues and in small, intimate gatherings.  It’s a joy to do women’s conferences and retreats for churches, and sometimes my husband Gene and I team-teach at worship services. I’m also available to speak at fundraising events for nonprofit organizations.”
As a former Bible Study Fellowship teaching leader, Carol loves to teach the Bible, and she generously weaves scripture, stories, and applications for life throughout her presentations.  She is willing to offer theme and message titles to your group, or she can work with your team to customize a topic you have selected.

She is the founder and director of the Speak Up Conference, a ministry that equips speakers and writers to take the next step: www.SpeakUpConference.com  With her husband Gene, she founded the nonprofit organization, Speak Up for Hope, which benefits inmates and their families. Carol is also the president of Speak Up Speaker Services, a Christian speakers’ bureau.
Carol is a popular international public speaker best known for being dynamic, humorous, encouraging, and biblical. She is a former radio show co-host and has often been a guest on Focus on the Family. She regularly appears on a wide variety of nationally syndicated radio and television broadcasts. Past appearances have included the Billy Graham Prime Time Special, Dateline NBC, CNN, MSNBC, Focus on the Family, LIFE Today with James Robison, Family Life Today, and 100 Huntley Street.

She holds a master’s degree in communication arts and a bachelor’s degree in speech education. Some of her 20+ books include: Becoming a Woman of Influence, When I Lay My Isaac Down, A New Kind of Normal, Between a Rock and a Grace Place, Secret Longings of the Heart, Tame Your Fears, Speak Up With Confidence, and her newest release, Unquenchable.  She has been featured on the cover of Today’s Christian Woman, and her articles have been published in a wide variety of magazines.

Where is your faith today—first sparks of faith, bright blue flames, radiating heat, raging bonfire, red-hot coals, cooling embers, cold grey ashes?  Is your love for God burning so brightly that you are consumed by its passion?  Are those who surround you drawn to its radiance and warmed by its heat?  Are sparks flying from you, spreading a wildfire faith that ignites passion in others?

Or has your passion cooled, your light dimmed, or your fire been quenched?

Throughout history God has chosen fire to represent his awesome power, his judgment and wrath, his protection, and his Shekinah glory: the flaming sword guarding Eden, the burning bush, the pillar of fire, the fiery furnace, the chariot of fire, the burning coal, the flame upon the altar, the lake of fire, and the flaming eyes of the Son of Man upon the throne—these are only a few of the images he has seared into our minds that we might know him more fully.

God is the source of that first flicker that sparked your faith and one day you will stand in his holy presence, look into the flaming eyes of Jesus, and see his burning love for you face to face.  But between that first flicker and that heavenly meeting, there is life to be lived on this earth.  The challenge we all face is that life can dim our fire or even quench it, whether by the soggy mist of the mundane, or the quenching downpour of crisis.

Carol Kent has discovered that God’s Word is filled with the secrets of nurturing his fire in our lives, sometimes painfully so, other times even undetected, refining, purifying, cauterizing, healing, and ultimately reshaping us into the image of his Son.

Author and speaker Carol Kent will take you into God’s word, and into your own story, to reveal the true power of the fire God has placed in you, to fan the flames of your faith, stir your passion, and embolden you to spark wildfires that will spread to forever change the landscape of this world beyond your wildest imagination.

God’s fire is in your life.  Fan the flames.  Burn brightly. Start a wildfire!
