Numbers 23:19,20
God is not man, that He should lie,
nor a son of man, that He should change His mind.

eternal life, which God, who does not lie, promised before
the beginning of time...
Hebrews 6:18-20
God did this so that, by two unchangeable
things in which it is impossible for God to lie, we who have
fled to take hold of the hope offered to us may be greatly encouraged.
We have this hope as an anchor for the soul, firm and secure. It enters the inner sanctuary behind the curtain, where Jesus, who went before us, has entered on our behalf. He has become a high priest forever, in the order of Melchizedek.
James tells us to stand firm and not be blown about like the waves of the seas. In this day and age when nothing is considered to be pure truth, when we have situational ethics, it is hard to stand for anything. We struggle to stand for what we believe in because we try to see others point of view and we are encouraged to be tolerant to the beliefs of others. Standing for what we believe in is unpopular.
We have a great High Priest who stood for His Father to
the death. We have a redeemer Who would not bend or waiver in the face of torture and crucifixion. He faced down the Pharisees and the Sadducees. He stood for the hurting and the rejected.
When we came to faith in Christ, we became heirs to the promises scattered through out the Bible. We became grafted into the family of God. God did not make any promises that He could not or would not keep. That is a truth we can stand on for all eternity.
