away on account of Me.
Isaiah 55:8,9 "For My thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways My ways," declares the Lord. "As the heavens are higher than the earth, so are My ways higher than your ways and my thoughts higher than your thoughts."
One of the biggest lies of the enemy is that we, as the
children of the Most High, will never be tested or tried. The
enemy wants us to believe that because we are co-heirs
with Jesus, that we will live prosperous, carefree lives. He
wants us to believe that no death or illness or pain will be
allowed to invade our lives. If God truly loves us, we would
never suffer distress or loss.
Nowhere in the Word of God does He tell us we will never
suffer. In James 1:12, we are told that 'when' we are tested,
He, God will give us the crown of life. The first chapter of
James tells us to persevere through all the trials. God has
promised that He will give wisdom generously without finding
fault when we seek Him and ask for it.
When we are faced with difficult times, when we just don't
understand why God would let these things happen, we need
to remember that God knows the beginning from the end. He
doesn't always tell us the whys of life. We are to lean on the
everlasting Arm. It will sustain us.
Many of Jesus followers left Him because many of His
teachings were too hard to understand. When Jesus asked
His disciples if they too would leave, Peter said
"Lord, to whom shall we go?
You have the words of eternal life." (Luke 6:60-70)
When life gets tough and we don't understand God's ways,
we need to trust in the Lord and not trust in the world's answers. The Lord has given us a love letter that is 66 books long. He has told of His love by creating a perfect world that we messed up. He sent His Son to lead us in the ways of righteousness and we sent Him to the cross. Jesus raised from the dead, healed, forgave and taught. Yet in all of our great wisdom, we deny His words are truth. We reword His Book to say what we want it to say, not what God really says. He loves us in spite of what we do.
When you don't understand the pain and trials, ask Him why. He may not tell us but He still walks with us. He still offers comfort and compassion. He wants to hold us in His gentle arms. He wants the most priceless gift we can give Him, our trust.
